Our commitment
Lent's House Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to meet or exceed the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Section 508, and applicable state laws including the Unruh Civil Rights Act.
Conformance status
This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility features on this site
- Persistent accessibility tool (lower-left button) with text resizing, high-contrast and dark themes, link highlighting, dyslexia-friendly font, animation pause, and always-on focus outlines.
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a single H1 per page.
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately.
- Full keyboard operability with visible focus indicators.
- Color contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 AA ratios.
- ARIA labels on icon-only controls and accessible names on all interactive elements.
- Responsive design that supports 200% zoom and reflow without loss of content.
- Respect for user OS-level "prefers-reduced-motion" settings.
Legal framework
We monitor evolving case law and federal guidance, including the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 ADA Title II web rule and Title III enforcement actions (e.g., Robles v. Domino's Pizza, Gil v. Winn-Dixie, and the SKIMS / Kim Kardashian class action that reinforced WCAG 2.1 AA as the operative web standard for places of public accommodation). We treat our website as a place of public accommodation and apply the WCAG 2.1 AA standard accordingly.
Known limitations & ongoing work
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We prioritize remediation as issues are identified and review the site quarterly with automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) and manual screen-reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS).
