Tax-Advantaged Giving Vehicles
Give smarter, not just more.
High-impact giving rarely runs through a credit card. The structures below let you reduce — or eliminate — capital gains, estate, and income tax while multiplying the value of every gift.
Appreciated Securities
Donate long-term appreciated stock, mutual funds, or ETFs and avoid capital gains tax entirely — while deducting the full fair-market value.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
Recommend a grant from your Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or community-foundation DAF. We are pre-qualified to receive DAF grants.
Bequests & Estate Gifts
Name Lent's House Inc. as a beneficiary of your will, trust, IRA, 401(k), or life-insurance policy. Estate gifts are fully deductible from your taxable estate.
Multi-Year Pledges
Commit a 3-, 5-, or 10-year giving plan. Predictable funding lets us build long-term programs — and lets you spread the deduction across multiple tax years.
Corporate Matching & Sponsorship
Most Fortune 500 employers match charitable gifts 1:1 or 2:1. Sponsorship dollars are typically deductible as ordinary business expenses, not just charitable contributions.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)
If you are 70½ or older, transfer up to $108,000 (2025) directly from your IRA to Lent's House — satisfying your RMD while excluding the distribution from taxable income.
The above is informational and is not legal, tax, or financial advice. Please consult your CPA, tax attorney, or financial advisor regarding the specific tax treatment of your gift.
Why your gift compounds.
Lent's House operates as a lean, mission-first organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Major gifts move us beyond month-to-month operations and into permanent infrastructure — homes purchased rather than rented, endowed program staff rather than contracted, and a reserve that ensures no child is ever turned away in a crisis.
- Trauma-informed residential care for children and youth with sickle cell
- 24/7 staffing with daytime nurse availability
- Education, financial literacy, and career readiness from age 12
- Cultural awareness programming and a Study Abroad track
Talk privately with our Founder.
Major gifts begin with a conversation — never a pitch. Shalana Upchurch-Quarles and our Board will meet you on your terms, under NDA if you prefer, to design a gift that fits your goals and your tax calendar.
