Effective date: June 6, 2026 · Last updated: June 6, 2026
1. Who we are
Lent's House Inc. ("Lent's House," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 39-3608398) headquartered at 715 NW Hoyt Street #2025, Portland, OR 97201. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit www.lentshouse.org, donate, volunteer, or otherwise interact with us.
2. Information we collect
- Information you provide: name, email, postal address, phone, volunteer applications, and any messages you send us.
- Payment information: we do not collect, see, or store your card number, CVV, or bank credentials. All donation transactions are processed off-site by our PCI-DSS compliant partner Zeffy, which handles all card, ACH, and payment data under its own privacy policy. Lent's House receives only the information needed to issue your tax receipt (name, email, donation amount, date, and designation).
- Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, referring URL, and aggregated analytics through privacy-respecting tools.
- Cookies: we use strictly necessary cookies and, only with consent, limited analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for full details and to manage your preferences.
3. How we use information
- Process donations and issue tax receipts as required by the IRS.
- Communicate about programs, events, and impact (you may opt out anytime).
- Respond to inquiries and provide volunteer/program services.
- Comply with legal obligations including state charitable-solicitation filings.
- Protect the safety and security of our website, residents, and staff.
4. We do not sell personal information
Lent's House does not sell, rent, trade, or share donor or visitor personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. This commitment satisfies California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state-law requirements.
5. Service providers we use
We share limited data with vetted vendors strictly to operate our mission, including: Zeffy (donation processing — handles all payment data on our behalf), our email and accounting platforms, and cloud hosting. Each processor is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we direct. Donated funds are disbursed to Lent's House Inc., reviewed by our in-house finance team, and independently reviewed by a third-party Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and reported on IRS Form 990 in accordance with U.S. tax law.
6. Children's privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in compliance with COPPA. Information about children residing in our program is collected only through controlled intake processes with parent or legal-guardian consent and is never used for marketing or shared publicly without separate written consent.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., California, Colorado, Virginia, Oregon, EU/UK), you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information;
- Receive a portable copy of your data;
- Opt out of communications or limit certain processing;
- Lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
To exercise any right, email admin@lentshouse.org. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data security & retention
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. We retain donor records as long as required by IRS, state-charity, and accounting rules (generally 7 years), and other data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.
9. Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites (e.g., Zeffy donation pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
