Donor Privacy & Disclosures
Donor privacy policy
Lent's House Inc. respects the privacy of every donor. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share donor names, contact information, or giving history with any third party for marketing purposes — full stop. Donor data is used solely to process gifts, issue tax receipts, deliver impact communications, and meet legal reporting requirements (IRS Form 990, Schedule B, and state charity filings). Donors may opt out of all non-transactional communications at any time by emailing admin@lentshouse.org.
Donor Bill of Rights
We endorse and abide by the Donor Bill of Rights developed by AFP, AHP, CASE, and the Giving Institute. Donors have the right to:
- Be informed of our mission and how resources are used.
- Be informed of the identity of our Board of Directors.
- Have access to our most recent financial statements and IRS Form 990.
- Be assured gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- Receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- Be assured that information about donations is handled with confidentiality.
- Expect that all relationships with representatives are professional.
- Be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees, or contractors.
- Have the opportunity for names to be deleted from mailing lists.
- Feel free to ask questions and receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
Financial transparency
Our IRS determination letter, Form 990, and audited financial statements (when available) may be requested by emailing admin@lentshouse.org or by visiting our public profile on Candid (GuideStar) and IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.
State charitable-solicitation disclosures
Lent's House Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 39-3608398). Registration with state charity regulators does not imply endorsement. Required state-specific disclosures appear below. Residents of these states are entitled to the following notices, which the IRS-recognized model language requires us to publish:
- Oregon: Lent's House Inc. is registered with the Oregon Department of Justice, Charitable Activities Section. Financial information may be obtained by writing the Oregon DOJ, 100 SW Market St., Portland, OR 97201, or calling (971) 673-1880.
- California: Registration with the California Attorney General's Registry of Charitable Trusts does not constitute endorsement.
- Florida: A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE (800-435-7352) WITHIN THE STATE. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE.
- New York: A copy of our latest financial report may be obtained from the New York State Attorney General's Charities Bureau, 28 Liberty St., New York, NY 10005.
- Pennsylvania: The official registration and financial information may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll-free, within Pennsylvania, 1-800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
- Washington: Additional information is available from the Secretary of State at 1-800-332-4483 or www.sos.wa.gov/charities.
- All other states: Registrations and disclosures available on request.
Quid pro quo & substantiation
Per IRS Publication 1771, contributions of $250 or more receive a written acknowledgment from Lent's House Inc. stating the amount of cash contributed, a description (but not value) of any non-cash property contributed, and a statement that no goods or services were provided in return (or a good-faith estimate of such goods or services, if any).
